1. I HAVE LOST AN OBJECT

Q: I have lost something, what can I do?

A: Log in and set your linked item to 'lost'. This way the Itemlost team is informed and we help you to the maximum by searching on different platforms.

My object has not yet been reported...

Has your lost item not yet been found? Keep an eye on your mail. When an honest finder reports, you are the first to receive a report. 80% of the finders are the honest finders and are willing to return your object.

Q: How do I prove that I am the owner of the item?

A: The honest finder can only come into contact with the rightful owner. The unique code on an Itemlost product is only linked to your account. Control characteristics can be requested. Describe your item in as much detail as possible. Control features are features that only the owner of the item knows and that the finder can see.

PLEASE NOTE:

Never give your BSN number.
Never give your address, especially when it comes to lost keys.

Q: How long will it take before I receive a response?

A: It takes about 1 to 3 working days for an honest finder to report the found object. Once there is contact, you can leave a message in the anonymous chat. The finder will receive the messages in his mailbox. Communicating with Itemlost's anonymous chat is very accessible.

2. RECOVER MY LOST ITEM

Q: How do I get my lost item back?

A: As soon as the honest finder has made a report via the Itemlost system, the rightful owner will receive an e-mail. A button in the e-mail will be displayed with 'respond above'. This way you can contact the honest finder via the mail. When you log on to Itemlost you can also continue talking in the anonymous chat.
Depending on the honest finder, you can pick up your item or have it delivered by courier service.

3. I HAVE FOUND AN ITEM WITH AN ITEMLOST PRODUCT

Q: I have found an object... and now?

A: When an Itemlost product is attached to a found object, you can report this on the website of Itemlost. You will then come into contact with the rightful owner. Even without an account you can get in touch with the rightful owner. Leave your email and unique code and the rightful owner will receive a notification.

Q: How do I respond to a message?

A: As soon as an honest finder reports the unique code of the object, the rightful owner will receive an e-mail notification. The rightful owner then has the choice to respond via e-mail or via anonymous chat. The honest finder continues to receive the messages in his e-mail. Do you as an honest finder want to use the anonymous chat in Itemlost, Then you need to create an account.

Q: I forgot my password...

A: Click on login to go to the login page, You can then click on the \"Forgot password\" button at the bottom. You will receive an e-mail message, where you can then recover your password.

A: Legally speaking, in the Netherlands you are obliged to publish a found object if you have found something. When the item is linked to an Itemlost product, You can easily and quickly contact the rightful owner.
